M.E. Therapy (Daily Motivation): Take Small Steps

"Whatever you're working on, take small bites. The task will not be overwhelming if you can reduce it to its smallest component."
-- Richard Russo

Lately I've been noticing that my peers and the generations after us are really struggling with finding happiness and dealing with the world.  It seems that we have mastered looking and acting like we feel good, even when we don't.  What we must realize, is that if we are not happy then we are not truly living.  The second part to this bit of realization is that once you realize that you are not truly happy or when you feel like the world is weighing you down with burdens that you can't stand to bear---you can find happiness by choosing to lay those burdens down. This is as simple as it sounds.  Everything that is causing stress, sadness, anger, or any kind of  pain---put it down, walk away, and let it go.

One way to begin to find happiness is by finding even the smallest things to be thankful for. Find the even the smallest things that make you happy, even if the happiness only lasts for a few seconds.  Focus on those things with every fiber of your being for as long as you can and as much as you can.  This is a simple and easy way to realize that life truly is precious and that it can be as amazing as we want it to be.  As the quote above says reduce whatever it is that is keeping you from truly being happy and truly living and reduce it to its smallest component.  When you do this, you will realize that it is not as hard as it seems to overcome it.  Remember that if you seek happiness, happiness will seek you.

Remember, you are what you dream.
May Joy and Peace be with you always.
