5 Fun Ways to Battle the Bulge

Christmas is just around the corner, and if you’re anything like us, you’re REALLY going to help yourself to “Mama’s cooking”! Yes, ‘tis the season, right, but remember piling on those extra helpings can certainly wreak havoc on a DOLL’s girlish figure and a gentlemen’s charming physique so why not find some fun ways to work off those extra trips you made to the kitchen? We surely will, and here are some fantastic ways to get started! :)

  • Wii will always work out no matter what! That’s right with one of the hottest game consoles nearby we’re 100% sure we will stay fit. You can always dance your way down a size or two with the Michael Jackson experience or Just Dance 2 game, and if dancing isn’t your thing, get a customized workout plan with Wii Fit or Wii Active. It’s the gift that keeps on slimming!
  • Dive into the New Year! Indoor pools—heated ones at that—are great creations. A lap or two around the pool will give you all the definition you need, but if you still want to go the extra mile, sign up for water aerobics. That will help burn twice as many calories than you normally would lose, and since you’ll be exercising in water, your joints will be protected from any kind of strain or injury!
  • Take a Spin in the Cinema! Plenty of gyms have “movie theaters” equipped with spin cycles or other workout equipment. Enjoy an intense workout while watching one of your favorite movies. They even post the movie times on the web so you can pick just the right motion picture that will hold your interest long enough for you to get toned up to perfection.

  • Just Zumba! We couldn’t leave this fitness craze off the list! Combining salsa rhythms with contemporary pop and hip hop is a recipe for success. If you want to get your heart rate up and make it dance to a beat, this is definitely the exercise for you! Grab some friends and drop by a class near you.

  • There’s no “I” in team and there’s no “lbs” in it either! Leave the video controller behind and actually get in the game! Join an intramural sports team or go to an indoor sports center like PLEX and literally have a ball!
