Top 3 Resume Writing Tips

Published on Tuesday, December 21, 2010 in

1. Back up your qualities:
Use work experiences to back up your strengths vs. trying to fluff up your resume. For example, one may want to include different projects and tasks performed on the job.

2. Put the most important information first:
It is not likely that an employer will read through an entire resume, so placing the most attractive points on top may be most beneficial.

3. Use action words to help describe your experiences:
This is most effective, because action words are attention grabbing. You may also want to quantify your skills by using numbers. For example, if you managed a team you should include an approximation of the size of your team.
