Self Love Series: Step 2--->Know Thyself

Cultivating good self-love is a process, which is why we are taking it step by step.  Last week we talked about defining love for yourself.  Hopefully you’ve all had a chance to sit and jot down what love means to you.  If you are able to keep your concept of love in the forefront of your mind, it will make the process of loving yourself that much easier!

Something else that you can do to begin actively practicing self-love is to really get to know yourself.  Getting to know yourself can take sometime, but here are a few easy tips that you can use to get started.

  1. Make lists of your likes, dislikes, strengths, weaknesses, dreams, hopes, and fears.
  2. Write down a list of all of your friends and the qualities they possess. (We are who we surround ourselves with)
  3. Remain aware of your reactions, moods, responses to the things that are happening around your
  4. Be aware of how you interact with others.
  5. Spend quality time alone everyday
  6. Remember that getting to know yourself is an everyday process!
