Getting to know our Doll of the Month...
D.O.L.L.S: If Hollywood made a movie about your life, who would you like to see play the lead role as you?
India: Taraji P. Henson

D.O.L.L.S: If someone wrote a biography about you, what do you think the title should be?
India: Normal is in the Eye of the Beholder

D.O.L.L.S: If you could be a superhero, what would you want your superpowers to be?
India: The ability to move at the speed of light.

D.O.L.L.S: If you are given a chance to travel to the past where would you go and specifically why?
India: If I could go back in the past I'd revisit June 2006 and simply say I love you.  Nothing compares to the bond between sisters.  I'm so grateful that God has a better plan than I do, but I never expected my life to change the way it did during that time.  I'm confident in my Father's plan, but it still would have been nice to say good-bye.

Looking Towards the Future with our Doll of the Month
D.O.L.L.S: What dream are you currently pursuing?
India: I believe that you can have dreams/goals for every sector of your life.  Currently I'm pursuing my career goals.  As a lieutenant in the United States Army, I want to be the best Soldier, chemical officer, and leader at my level of expertise.  Being that I'm at such a essential point in my endeavor, this is where I begin setting the foundation of my military career.  A career that I hope will be long-lasting.

D.O.L.L.S: What are the first steps you took to follow your dreams?
India: I first had to make up in my mind, and believe in my heart, that favor ain't fair.  Favor with God gives you favor with man.  Any hard work that I put in would be in vein if I didn't trust that He has already made a way.  In faith, I will continue to work hard, further my military and civilian education, network and everything else it takes to function in the workforce.  The old adage, "It's not what you know, it who you know" proves to be true.  And I know Him.

D.O.L.L.S: What are some road blocks that you have come across?
India: Thus far, many of my obstacles have been internal.  That's the main reason my first step became so important.

D.O.L.L.S: Who are some individuals in your field you admire and would like to work with in the future?
India: I admire many of the senior non-commissioned officers that I've been blessed to have worked with.  There's nothing like a good NCO teaching a lieutenant how to be a good officer.  I'm really looking forward to working with my peers and seeing how we will contribute to the Army and the chemical branch.

D.O.L.L.S: Is there anything that you’d like our readers to learn from you?
India: A person's outward appearance is just that, an appearance/an outward show.  Go beyond that.  Get to know people for who they are, rather than what society says or what assumptions you've made.

D.O.L.L.S: What motto do you live by?
India: Be yourself.  Pretending to be someone else is much harder.

D.O.L.L.S: How do you stay motivated to accomplish your goals?
India: My future family motivates me to accomplish my goals.  I want my family to be emotionally and spiritually full.  Growing up in a single-parent home, with a mother who spends most of her days working, is not uncommon.  It's my story as well as many others.  The plan is to prevent my children from making the same statement I just made.  I'd rather work hard now in order to play hard later on in life.

D.O.L.L.S: What can we look forward to from you in the future?
India: The future.... I'd say look for a more well-rounded individual who is continuously developing as a leader and hopefully developing others.
