5 Games You Should NEVER Play in your Relationship!

Published on Friday, July 15, 2011 in , ,

Game nights and get togethers are fine for relationships, but when it seems like Mattel has modeled one of their products after your relationship, then it's time to reevaluate it altogether. Let's face it! There are some games no one should sign up to play in their relationship so check out the list below and let us know if you agree!

First up! Even though UNO is undoubtedly my favorite card game, it's downright selfish...lol. It's all about looking out for number ONE by any means necessary, and that logic just doesn't add up when a couple is involved. Someone's bound to get the short end of the stick, and who in their right mind would want to deal with that?

Monopoly is all about bankrupting your partner, and there's no place for greediness in any relationship. Besides, money is considered to be the root of all evil so who wants to commit to someone like that? Being career oriented is one thing, but becoming money hungry is a recipe for disaster. Who knows? If you fall on hard times or heaven-forbid become penniless, where does that leave your relationship in the end?

Also, when certain topics are considered Taboo in a relationship, how does that affect your communication? Withholding information, but still expecting your partner to get the overall concept and stay on the same page with you is outrageous. Talking around the issue instead of being direct will only lead to confusion in the end. I mean, just think about it: How many times do we get upset because our man can't read our minds even though we haven't said anything? I'll go ahead and answer that for you...Plenty of times. :)

Now, if quality time is your issue, then Solitaire is your specialty. It's healthy to have your own space and your own identity in a relationship, but when you have so much space that it seems like you're always on your own, you might want to cut ties with that relationship and actually work on your personal one.

Last but not least, I, for one, do not like emotional roller coasters, but if that's your idea of a good time then by all means, Chutes and Ladders could be the game for you. I don't know many people who would want to spend all that time taking their relationship from one level to the next only to have it knocked back down to square one. That just screams dysfunction to me. Chutes can come in many forms--dishonesty, miscommunication, and infidelity--just to name a few, but I'd rather avoid them altogether than have them sprinkled all over my playing board. Just saying!

Moral of the story: Whether is the deluxe edition or just plain old regular, no mind games are acceptable in any relationship!
