Beauty DIY: Stain Removal 101

Published on Wednesday, July 20, 2011 in , , ,

Okay Ladies (and Gentleman) we've all had that day when we got dressed to impress only to make mess on the outfit that we had worked so hard to put together! The last thing you want to see is a stain, that you've made on one of your favorite outfits. Today I decided to veer off the normal path of skin, hair , and nails today in order to focus on some simple tips and tricks that will help you out any little stain bind that you may find yourself in at the last minute!

Rule Number 1: Pat it, don't Rub it!

Whenever you spill something on a piece of clothing, never and I say NEVER rub it! We are so often annoyed at the fact that we have spilled something that we think the harder we rub it the smaller the stain will become. WRONG!

Try this process to remove a stain:

1. Place a napkin under the fabric/piece of clothing where the stain is located to absorb and some of the stain and excess moisture.
2. Sprinkle some salt on the stain and let it sit for a few minutes.
3. Shake the salt off of the fabric/piece of clothing.
4. Next, dip the stained area into soda water with your pointer finger.
5. Remove the fabric from the soda water and pat the area with a napkin.
6. Repeat steps 4 & 5 using a new napkin until the stain is gone.
