OneChele is yet another talented blogger that we'd like to feature on our site. She truly has a way with words that lets her offer endless entertainment to her readers. Check her out at http://blacknbougie.com/!

D.O.L.L.S: How would you describe your blogging style?
One Chele: Personal, conversational and random with a hint of snark, a whiff of rebellion and a lot of laughter.

D.O.L.L.S: What inspired you to start blogging?
One Chele: I’m an author and I wanted a forum to promote my books. I thought if I could get people interested in my writing style on the blog, they would buy the books as well. I started BnB (Black ‘n Bougie, often referred to a BougieLand) as a marketing tool. But I also realized that a lot of blogs catered to the hip-hop, pop culture side of African American living. I wanted to tap into the Huxtables. Then I got started telling my relationship tales of woe and the blog has evolved from there.

D.O.L.L.S: What keeps you motivated to continue blogging?
One Chele: I find I still have things to say and thoughts to share.

D.O.L.L.S: What's the best thing a blogger can give to their readers and why?
One Chele: An interesting topic, a forum to discuss it and like-minded individuals with whom they can share their thoughts. Contrary to popular beliefs, they are a lot of thinkers out there. There are topics and areas of discussion that people want to talk about and it’s all the better if they find a place where people either think like they do or offer them an interesting perspective into another way of thought.

D.O.L.L.S: How does your blog reflect your unique style and beliefs?
One Chele: My blog is a more outspoken, better-edited version of myself. I tend to be old school and opinioned, also a little old-fashioned, slight preppy with an edge and bougie in a good way.

D.O.L.L.S: Has social media in any way helped to enhance the blogging experience for you? How?
One Chele: Social media is heavily responsible for the growth of the blog. I’m always fascinated to see which posts go viral and what kind of new followers/readers that bring to BougieLand. I’ve also met incredible people through Twitter and Facebook that have helped shape the kinds of things I discuss on the blog and on my radio show with Carolyn Edgar.

D.O.L.L.S: What's your favorite post that you wish everyone who came to your blog would read and why?
One Chele: Oh no. I couldn’t possibly choose one out of close to 900. So I always suggest folks read The Bouge Rules page which summarizes the blog concept and denotes the rules of conduct on the blog. I definitely point people to that all the time. I don’t mind a healthy debate but some people go off the rails with their comments. Last year I did a blog “State of the Union” re-cap which includes the blog demographics as well as the most popular posts so that’s a good one to check out if you want some variety. The most re-posted, re-blogged, re-tweeted post of all time was my recounting of an Usher-themed wedding I attended. Read it and weep.

D.O.L.L.S: Name 2 bloggers who you like to read on a regular basis and why?
One Chele: I read AverageBro.com and CarolynEdgar.wordpress.com – they are smart, witty, insightful and have a way of looking at things that I wish I’d thought of.

D.O.L.L.S: What can our readers expect to find when they drop by your blog?
One Chele: A laugh or two, a deep thought or two, and a rant or two.

D.O.L.L.S: What advice would you give to someone who is thinking about starting a blog?
One Chele: Just write what you know and stay true to it whether you have six readers or six thousand.
