The Wo(man) in the Mirror: Do You Need Change?

It never fails, this is the time of year that I always hear people complain the  most. I mean even through all of the holiday cheer?!? I am beginning to realize it's because the end of the year is something like a reality check.   It's a reminder of the things things that were hoped for or the resolutions that were made at the start of the year that never came into fruition.  It's not that they were impossible either, but because there was a lack of motivation and commitment.

This year I'd like to challenge everyone who this may apply to and even everyone who it doesn't to make the decision to change today. The first step is always the same when it comes to change.  The first step is always to take a look at and closely examine the woman or man in the mirror. It is by working with the person that stares back at you daily that you will see the change you wish to see the most.

There are many signs that will let you know that you may be in need of change. Some of these signs include, but are certainly not limited to feeling as though you are stuck, feeling unhappy, and even having feelings of jealousy.  All of these feelings are negative and are strong indicators that not only do you want change, but that you are in need of it.

Here is an exercise for everyone reading this.  Everyday for the next 30 days look in the mirror, remember that you are great, but identify things that need change. Make a list of the things that make you great and the things that you need or would like to change.  Look at your list throughout the day and accept the great things and things that you wish to change about you. Accept yourself for who you are.

Once you can accept yourself fully and completely then you will be able to initiate change within yourself. You can start by coming up with a plan of change.  The first thing you would do to create this plan is create goals. Be sure to set goals that are reachable, but that still challenge you.   Also, give yourself a time limit to complete your goal.  Next create a plan of action. Your plan of action will be the things you plan to do to accomplish your goals.  Once you've done this all that will be left to do will be to accomplish your goals!  Be sure to write down the things that are not working for you so that you can avoid doing those things again, Oh, and don't forget to celebrate each accomplishment no matter how small it may seem to you.

It is important to remember that it may take you a little while to get into the swing of things.  Be sure to hold yourself accountable ( or find a friend who will) for what you are supposed to do! Don't allow yourself to make excuses.   Make up your mind to be in a better place than you are now this time next year!  If you decide to take on this Man in the Mirror Challenge we'd love to help you! and before I discovered this site, I said that I wanted to when I wrote in my journal this morning!!! Amazing!. I truly believe that when you have a genuine desire to grow, you attract individuals who help you do that. So I'm happy about this establishment!!!
