Persistence & Hard work

Ambition is the path to success. Persistence is the vehicle you arrive in. ~Bill Bradley

Thanks to Drake when I hear the word success, I automatically hear Trey Songz singing, "I just wanna be, I just wanna be successful."  In fact I hear that a lot from just about any and everyone these days.  Everyone wants to be successful, but not everyone will do what it takes to actually be successful.  That doesn't mean that you have to join the crowd by any means though.

If you're reading this then maybe you've come to the point where you're ready and willing to put in some hard work and persistence.  If that's the case then here are some tips that will help you stay focused and successful.

Rule of P&H 1.  Protect Your Ideas.

If you have a new and amazing idea work with it until you've developed it completely.  Don't go telling the whole world you're idea until you've figured it out.  You will be saving your idea from being stolen and jaded.  Not everyone wants to see you happy and not everyone will support you.  This is why you need to spend some time alone with your idea so that you can not only develop it, but so that you can make sure that you believe in it enough to keep at it when times get tough!

Rule of P&H 2. Use Bricks Not Hay

When you are developing your idea into a brand, make sure you are actually putting in effort.  Don't go for instant gratification or get rich quick schemes.  If you do your idea/brand will surely collapse like the the tree little pigs home they built from hay.  Instead, take your time, do research and build a solid foundation on which to stand and grow.  Remember, you're building your legacy not trying to be a one hit wonder.

Rule of P&H 3. Go For It

In the words of Nike, "Just do it."  Hard work really does pay off, but not if you never put yourself out there!  You can have the greatest idea in the world and putting in major work to make sure it is a success, but if you never share it with anyone then what good is it?  Sure it's scary to put yourself and all of your hard work out there, but it's SO worth it.  Yeah, you'll encounter nay sayers, but it's more likely that you'll gain support and see the reality of your dreams.  Now what sounds better? Going for it of course!

Great great article! It's so true, a lot of the times we want to share our ideas with everyone but how terrible of an idea that is. People are so quick to ridicule and point out why an idea won't work which only makes us back down from it. Last year I learned to stop sharing my ideas with others until I was well underway with it. That way people can't jump on the bandwagon and completely change your vision and dream. I actually wrote about success a few weeks ago. http://pieceofvirtue.blogspot.com/2012/01/want-success-do-prep-work.html
I hope you'll have the chance to read it. It's along the same lines but talks about the prep work it takes to get where you want to go.

I love love your blog and the quality of writing. Keep up the good work. : )
